Experience and also if the position is paid with comissions or not. If it does involve comissions then the hourly wage the department store would pay will be lower because you are expected to make up wages based on sales. And of course, experience in sales and cosmetics will factor in.
I am getting my make-up done for prom at Estee Lauder. Would Clinique look better or not?
I don't want dark eyeshadow or dramatic blush. I want my make-up to be classic, but noticeable and to stay on throughout the dance. I am having second thoughts and am wondering if Clinique would be a better choice...|||I think it has more to do with the makeup artist, then it does with the actual products. With that being said though, I do prefer Estee Lauder cosmetics over Cliniques because they seem to be more long-lasting, especially for something like a prom, which might be during hot weather, perspiration during dancing, hot lights, etc. Actually I prefer MAC cosmetics over all of them, for their long-lasting capability under the most "stressful" conditions. And yes, you can actually get non-dramatic looks using MAC products too. But if MAC is not your thing, I'd pick Estee Lauder next.|||estee lauder will be better. clinique will go a little crazier. estee lauder is more classic. i had them do my makeup last year. i'm sure u will look beautiful!|||i use estee lauder make up and it is great it stays on all day. Which is better for a moisturiser - Estee Lauder or Lancome?
Or another brand. Have have normal to dry skin with the occassional breakout. I have just run out of my cheap moisteriser (I didnt like it) and I want a good one. Which is the best?|||I had the same conditions you have. I have tried all the creams! My favorite that worked best on me was Estee Lauder's day wear plus. It is a multi protection Anti-Oxidant Creme SPF 15 for Dry Skin. The protection plus provides shield skin to help prevent visible signs of aging. And it's $38. That's the bad part but it's worth your money. Hope it works. You can buy it @ the store or online @ their website www.esteelauder.com. If I ended up not like Estee Lauder self tan lotion can I return it after one use?

Just make sure you save the receipt and if u can the original packaging! but as long as u have the receipt. How do i know? well I purchased a couple of products from Estee Lauder counter at Macys and I ended up having a problem with their products, i lost the original packaging but since I had the receipt I returned it and got my money back! all I know is clinique tests on animals. And my dermatologist told me not to waste my money w/ that expesnsive stuff- dove or olay or ponds creams work just as good at a mere fraction of the price tag. Clinique and Estee Lauder have been around for movie stars and rich alike to enjoy for years whereas those littler companies have the same ingredients, just not the name.. They need to stop packaging their moisturizer formulations in jars - its a breeding ground for bacteria. The Lauder companies also should make their products less fragranced.|||I agree with the girl above me.

I was fishing around a makeup bag I got recently and came across Estee Lauder's Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser. Just reviews on how good the product works would be good. Also, with you review please rate your overall on a scale from 1-10. And also, do I just rub this on, or do I use water with it, or is it just for the shower...? I was wondering if it would be good with just washing my face in the sink on a regular day.

Pump for estee lauder double wear foundation?
I just recently bought this foundation and im in love, except i hate that it doesn't have a pump. I was wondering if anyone has discovered a pump that would fit on it. Maybe one from mac or something like that. Thanks. And if anyone is curious about this foundation, I really recommend it!|||Do you have an old bottle with a pump? You could clean it out and pour your Estee Lauder into it.|||The MAC foundation pump will fit on the bottle. They are $6.00.

Has anyone ever tried Estee Lauder Double Wear or Double Wear Light foundation?
If so, can I please have your thoughts? Thanks!|||My friend bough the estee lauder double wear to wear at our high school prom, it is very pricey but worth the money as it lasts ages and gives a good finish. Whatever you do though don't apply it in layers after the first has dried it can go a bit streaky if you do that. Great coverage though.|||I have tried double wear, it feels very dry on and needs to be blended quickly. But it does hold up all day and photographs well, it would be my recommendation for wedding makeup for sure.

They all look, feel natural while providing medium to full coverage. The doublewear feels like a mask you sweat in. I have super dry skin i had several pimples and used proactive and now it dried my skin complete i bought a moisturizer with vitman E that kind of helps... What good make up is there for dry skin I want it to look nice a smooth kinda oily any reccomendations!! :) Thanks alot|||ESTEE LAUDER is for women over 45, CLINIQUE is the better one here.

Estee Lauder makes a Hydrating Tinted Moisturizer that is great too, it just gives a little bit of coverage, but makes you look dewy. Bobbi Brown makes an awesome one called Moisture Rich that will make you look glowing and even.
You are smart to hydrate your skin with moisturizer. I would also recommend using an exfoliator 1-2 times a week. If you are not exfoliating, you have dead skin cells sitting on the surface of your skin, and so your moisturizer is not penetrating adequately bc it is getting blocked by the dead skin cells. Exfoliating will also make your skin look smooth and even.|||In my opinion Clinique is the best make-up hands down. The line was actually started by a dermatologist.|||I have used Clinique for a few years now (there 3-step system is simple and keeps my skin looking great) but I am combination skin, so can't really vouch for their dry skin products. I do know that they are probably cheaper than Estee Lauder and a really important thing for me is that they DONT test on animals! :)

You are smart to hydrate your skin with moisturizer. I would also recommend using an exfoliator 1-2 times a week. If you are not exfoliating, you have dead skin cells sitting on the surface of your skin, and so your moisturizer is not penetrating adequately bc it is getting blocked by the dead skin cells. Exfoliating will also make your skin look smooth and even.|||In my opinion Clinique is the best make-up hands down. The line was actually started by a dermatologist.|||I have used Clinique for a few years now (there 3-step system is simple and keeps my skin looking great) but I am combination skin, so can't really vouch for their dry skin products. I do know that they are probably cheaper than Estee Lauder and a really important thing for me is that they DONT test on animals! :)

HI guys, I need a little assistance choosing a foundation . I have oily skin with acne scars and discoloration . I am student and investing money in those products are not easy. I have been told to avoid Sodiumm Lauryl Sulfate because of pimples around the chin. Is this ingredient in Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv products?|||I don't believe so, but it is best to check each product for its list of ingredients. If it contains sodium lauryl sulfate, it must be listed on the side of the box/pot.|||It may be there in some other form, sodium laureth, etc. Check carefully.
If you are looking for SLS and other chemical free creams etc I found some at this site that might help.
I admit they are a bit expensive but I think they are about the best I have ever used - shampoos, conditioners, hand creams, face lotions etc.

Does anyone out there wear Estee Lauder that may know what Im talking about?
I bought this eye shimmer from Estee Lauder about a year ago and I still have some left. The problem is, the label has started to wear off and I cant read what it is to go and buy some more and there are no Estee Lauder counters in my mall(or anywhere else near by!) It looks like the label says 01 but I cant be sure, it looks like theres another number in front of the 01. What is comparable to Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Intensive Lifting Serum?
I have been using the Intensive Lifting Serum since it came out and it has done wonders for my skin. However, I can no longer afford to buy the product. Any fragrances smell like Estee Lauder Spellbound for cheaper?
My mom just insists on getting Estee Lauder Spellbound perfume for Christmas each year. She wants the 3.4 oz size. If you can find it on sale (rare) then you spend like $65 but it usually ends up being every bit of $80 with tax. This year it's what she wants again, but here's my thing: I'm pregnant with baby #2, my husband and I are both in college full time and we just don't have the money to buy people expensive gifts.
I've asked her, for my present, for Lacoste for women, which is about $35 for the 3.4 oz... I told her the price of mine, hoping she'd choose to ask for something less expensive... but she still wants it. Quite a price difference. Anyway, are there any other brands out there that resemble Estee Lauder Spellbound but for the Lacoste price??? If not, she's just getting a $35 Dillard's giftcard and she can pay for the other part.

I have uneven skin tone with freckles and redness and i am looking for a foundation that covers very well, while looking very natural and LONG LASTING .
I currently use MAC's studio sculpt foundation but i find it does not last that long even with moisturiser and primer.

Does estee lauder magnascopic mascara work?
I just bought a foundation and received that mascara as a free gift. Before I try it out, does it make lashes more volumized? There specialty is not skin care. They do have a lot of skin care products and I am sure they are a lot better than drug store brands, but i like to use products that are used in spas and skin care clinics.
I do not think it will be good for rosy cheeks, especially not if you are sensitive.
Because it has SPF in it, it probably uses chemical filters for sun protection. Those chemicals are known to irritate skin, and cause breakouts in people that are acne prone. So its always best to use mineral filters like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide if you have sensitive or acne prone skin.

My personal favorite brands are Kate Somerville, Dermalogica, and Skinceuticals.
I also like Peter Thomas Roth, Dr Dennis Gross, and Dr Brandt is alright too.

How do I return an Estee Lauder foundation purchased from Harrods which is not suitable?
I have the original packaging and bought it less than a week ago.|||Have you opened it and used it at all? If so then they won't take it back as they won't be sure if something has 'contaminated' it. If its not been opened they may take it back, phone them and ask.You could try selling it on ebay if you want money back from it|||It depends how it is not suitable. If it is faulty then you can return it, but if it is just not right for you, then i am not sure you can return it x|||It all depends on the harrods policy! and the reason for the return, most places will not take it back if it is the wrong shade, or colour, that is why most high street stores have lots of testers and demos, the only other way is if it is causing you irritation in some way, eg! i was given some estee lauder scent as a gift, it seemed to leave my skin itchy for some reason, there was no rash or evidence of this, but the store happily changed it for me, to somthing what i knew was suitable for me, my suggestion is call in to the store and have a word with them, i am sure they will resolve this for you.

Hey guys i want to get a new mascara, im after length and curl cause my lashes are really short. I normally use estee lauder and its good but i was wondering if lancome might be better?|||I love Lancome, %26amp; have tried there mascara and it works great. I haven't tried Estee Lauder, but I hear from people who have that Lancome is better.
Here's my thoughts of top 5 either by personal experience or by seeing many positive comments about them.
- Telescopic is great for the price and lengthens. (My fave)
- Lancome Defincils is the #1 Mascara for several years (in many style magazines) I have a small sample of it, it lenghthens, seperates,and never clumps.
- My good friend had a very expensive mascara from Chanel, it worked amazingly, but she wouldn't tell me what it's called - I'm pretty sure it was Chanel Inimitable though.
- Also Lancome Hypnose I've heard amazing things about, basically all Lancome mascaras are great!
- I've heard you get the closest to the false eyelash look with Fiberwig.
Those a 5 great choices.

Estee Lauder foundation and primer or revlon colorstay and l'oreal studio secrets primer?
I have oily skin (; Im not sure whether to buy estee lauder doublewear foundation and estee lauder mattifying primer or revlon colorstay (for comb/oily skin) and the l'oreal studio secrets primer (: By the way Im more than prepared to buy higher end products since I can easily afford them! (:|||100% Estee Lauder! It beats every single foundation out there. It stays on for 15 hours, resists heat and humidity, and doesn't cause break outs. Really, you will not be disappointed by it! It is the BEST foundation out there, I love it, and I'm positive you will too!!

I am 22. Is it bad for me to use Estee Lauder Night Repair?
I naturally have dry skin and live in AZ where it dries out even more. I have recently been using Estee Lauder Night Repair to help the sun damage done to my skin throughout the day. It works great but I am starting to hear that it may have bad effects in the future. Is using this product now not preventative, but on the contrary, damaging?|||no. like my aunt once said, "why not start preventing it now, since you're going to do it anyway?"

Does the Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator from estee lauder really work? Was it worth the money? I want it to clear away my acne scars and give me a more even skin tone. Should I microwave my Estee Lauder eyeshadow primer?
Okay so I have an estee lauder eyeshadow primer and its consistency is a little hard and I want it to soften up so its easier to put on. Should I do this or will I ruin it? and for how long should I microwave it for?|||Try heating up a mug of water in the microwave for about a minute and a half to two minutes, then put the bottle of primer inside the hot water for about 5 minutes. This should soften the product without burning it or anything in the microwave :)

I have been on 2 interviews with Lord %26amp; Taylor to work as a Beauty Advisor for Lancome I have my final interview Monday But i have also been interviewing with Estee Lauder inside Carsons which pays more?|||if you're a beauty advisor in a dept store.. then you'd get paid an hrly rate.. it shouldn't matter which counter you work for.. it should be the same rate.

Sales goals and atmosphere working for Clinique/Estee Lauder?
I have had a few offers to work with Clinique or Estee Lauder recently. At the interview they were very adamant about making sales goals, which I understand, but I am worried about them being unobtainable and constantly stressing about reaching them. Do you know anything about this? I have experience with both companies but it was with military sales and very relaxed but the department stores seem much different. Also, how is the atmosphere ex) relationships between co-workers, managers etc.?|||It depends on where you work, and who your AE is. Yes, every department store right now is insane about sales goals because of the economy. Estee Lauder is huge about pre-sale for gifts etc. If you have makeup experience I would recommend MAC or another line instead. Lancome is a good gift line to work for, because they are always busy. I have also heard that Clinique is now the number 1 makeup line because their price point is so low and the economy is what it is. If you have to work for a gift line, try to work at Nordstrom or Bloomy's. Otherwise, I would stay away.

okay so im like so pale and i already wear double wear and absolutely love it,im the color bone in the regular double wear.But estee lauder has a great deal going on right now and i thought a light foundation for those days when i dont feel like a full face would be good so what color would i be?|||you would be a number 1 in double wear light. if its too light remember you can use a bronzer to give you a little color for the summer :) you could also try the new tinted moisturizer. Try it on first before you buy being that you are "pale" :) make sure you put on moisturizer on first otherwise itll turn orange. Then put on the tinted moisturizer. It is a sheer tinted creme that gives you a tine to your skin but looks great! apply with your hands quick, light, and easy. ITS FOR EVERYONE! :) IF You want a more dewy look use foundation double wear light over it to give you a finished look.

Eye burning after applying Estee Lauder Eye cream?
I'm using a Estee Lauder Eye cream recently and whenever i apply it to the area around my eyes, I feel my eyes are burning. Is this normal? Should I stop using it?|||It's not uncommon to have eye sensitivities. The first question I would ask is are you applying it correctly? Using your ring finger, tap the product lightly and then begin patting the product gently around your ocular bone. You should not apply any eye cream directly to the skin on your eyelid or directly under the eye.
If you think of this analogy, you'll understand why:
The skin under your eye is very thin and fragile...excessive rubbing and applying a lot of product to this thin skin can either cause irritation or simply over-saturate the skin with cream and it will migrate into your eyes causing stinging etc.
The best visual I can give you is if you put some water on the counter then lay a tissue down next to the water with just the smallest corner of the tissue touching the water....you know what happens! The tissue draws the moisture into it and before you know it, the water has all been absorbed by the tissue and the whole tissue is damp. It's the same with eye cream...apply it to the ocular bone and it will go where it needs to go without over doing it.
In any event, if a product makes you uncomfortable, return it. The Beauty Advisor will help guide you to a better alternative.|||I would stop using it and contact my doctor....return it tho for a refund.|||STOP using it immediately! When you put something on and it starts burning, wash it off immediately and get a new product to try. If rashes appear, consult a doctor.|||youre probably allergic to a ingredient in the product, stop using estee cream and find another cream.|||estee lauder cream made my skin turn super red than break out, because aat the time i didnt know that fragrance made my skin freak out :O definately rinse your eyes ASAP though! and yeah that must mean that you have sensative skin like me|||This can certainly happen if you are sensitive to the product, but as a cosmetic executive for 5 years, I have found that when clients are not removing ALL of their eye makeup remover, then applying eye cream, the residue from the eye makeup remover (generally a soap of some kind) can make the eye cream burn. Biotherm Aquasource or Estee Lauder Daywear moisturizer?
Does anyone know which one is a better moisturizer? I have normal to combination skin. I've also tried the Estee Lauder one already and think that it works pretty well, but I'm just curious if the Biotherm one might work better? Or is there one that you recommend thats maybe better than both?

Need Pale Foundation: Is Estee Lauder Double Wear Shell paler than Make Up Forever HD 107?
I tried Make Up Forever HD Foundation in 107, the palest shade. However, it is too dark and orange on my pale skin. Is Estee Lauder Double Wear in Shell paler than that shade? Or do you have any other recommendations for foundation for pale skin. Thanks for all the help.|||I recommend 2W1 Sand. I used the Maybelline in 110 (Porcelain) after I stopped with 1C1 Shell, and I found that the Double Wear tends to apply light compared to the picture.

I have been using Arbonne's RE9 line and I love it! My skin looks so different. My friend just told me that she loves the Estee lauder anti aging line. Which do you think is better?|||Arbonne hands down!!! Estee Lauder has filler in it and you are paying for the name not the quality of the product! Plus Arbonne has a new skin care line coming out in Feb! Cheaper lotion as good as estee lauder hydra complete?
My face gets really dry after I shower, and after much searching I found out that Estee Lauder hydra complete multi-level moisture lotion does an amazing job. But I cant keep buying it, its $40. I keep trying cheaper ones, but none of them compare. I wish I knew which of the ingredients in this lotion was making such a big difference. Any ideas on a different great lotion thats not so expensive?|||Try Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion. I usually buy this in a tube and costs $11.50 at the make-up counter at department stores.|||Look at Neutragena. I use there lotions and I have VERY sensative skin.

I have super sensitive, dehydrated acne-prone combination skin and pretty much everything breaks me out...They give a similar finish on my skin: buildable flawless coverage that lasts all day, and the result is really nice. However, the MAC one broke me out like crazy. I bought this on a tuesday so that I could try it out for a couple of days before going out on saturday. Within those days I had a very severe break out with cystic acne along with getting dry patches...it looked terrible and it was really painful. The double wear one didn't break me out, but I did get some sort of "bumps" on the right side of my face...after some use this stopped. This is a very good foundation, but it is pricey. It's still the one I would go for.|||honestly estee lauder is gentler on skin alot

What knowledge do you need to know when applying for a job as a beauty adviser for estee lauder?
I've rang up the recruiting agency for estee lauder, they went on to say they could put me through to a basic phone interview where i will need to know/be asked questions on estee lauder, i'm not sure if they meant products or company, but they give you the option to ring back after doing some research, so does anyone know any specific questions they ask or have any handy facts? has anyone done this before? thanks!|||they will ask you about certain skin conditions and the best product that they supply for it so research their product range and what applications each is for

Anyone on here tried Estee Lauder foundation?
I am very pale and I've herd that Estee Lauder is one of the best brands for pale skin. Has anyone tried any Estee Lauder foundations? Which shade do you do use? Does it apply smoothly? How long does it last? Does it look good once applied?|||Hey, Im very pale to and i've tried so many foundations looking for a match. Iv tried the doublewear light in intensity 1.0 but while its the palest shade it wasn't pale enough. I also tried their double wear in ecru and again it wasn't pale enough, although it's not so bad that you can't get away with it. The doublewear was good though, it lasts long and does have a nice finish, slightly drying though so be sure to use moisteriser before. Im going to get shell 1C1 in the doublewear, my friends has it and shes really pale and it looks good. It's their palest shade.
If you go to the estee lauder counter before you buy though, their consultant can match you with the right shade, though sometimes I find they pick a colour which is to warm from my skin tone and therefore looks slightly orangey. You could also ask for a sample.

I am applying at a new Estee Lauder make up counter how do I impress their reps.?
A department store in my town is getting a Estee Lauder and Clinique counter . i have an interveiw with the stores managers and that doesn't worry me . but i am a little intimidated by meating with the make-up companys represenatives. what should i expect in the interveiw and what should i do to impress them. if anyone out there has any experience with the 2 companys could you give me some tips.|||I could sell Estee Lauder makeup because I wear it and I love it. On the other hand, I could not sell Clinique makeup because I think it's crap. I would suggest you go to another store and check out the makeup lines for yourself (no purchasing necessary) so you can get a feel for what's great about the products. They are looking for someone who can be enthusiastic about the makeup, because when you love something it shows, and it makes people want to buy it too. At Macy's, they make you wear the makeup you're selling when you come to work, so you'll get familiar with it anyway once you get hired. As long as you're friendly and willing to learn, you'll be fine.

Is using my fingures ok.Is the foundation i use a good one.|||i use estee lauder foundation and its wonderful, well worth the price. before i apply it i use a moisturiser especially around the eyes and nose as it can look cakey because this foundation dries really quickly.
When I apply this foundation I wet my foundation brush in warm water tap it a little with a tissue so it's not soaking then apply the foundation on the brush.
Since I've used this strategy for applying make-up I've noticed how great my foundation looks, the water blends in so well with my foundation and makes it so much easier to apply and also it seems to look more even and natural. i also blend the foundation using my fingers just as you would with a moisterisers.makeup artists believe that using your fingers warms up the foundation, which helps it melt into your skin better. A sponge provides a great even coverage. It's up to you which you prefer.

What do you think of estee lauder make up?
I recently got my make up done at estee lauder. And it looked really lovely, and much better than my original clinique make up. Its non acnegenic, which means it shouldn't cause acne, which is perfect cos I have acne prone oily skin, and its oil free. She also used a love moisturizer and a pore minimiser it all looked lovely. and not to much and my skin. Has anyone ever used it anything by estee lauder .

That being said it's really unlikely their makeup is any better for your skin than clinique UNLESS it's that new one with the pomegranate and stuff. Their mineral line is slightly better for your skin because it contains no parabens, no talc and some better for your skin ingredients.
I did get their mineral line but I ended up resorting back to bare minerals because after awhile i noticed my skin started to break out a little. there's stil la lot of gunk ingredients in all their makeup and my skin just isn't used to that anymore after bare minerals lol.|||Save yourself some money and try Mary Kay. All of their skin care products have normal and oily skin options. ANd the makeup is FANTASTIC! I started to wearing it about a year ago, and now I sell to friends and family.
